What is Register Round-Up?
Co-op shoppers have the option to round up their grocery bill to the next dollar and donate to local nonprofit organizations chosen by our Member-Owners. At the end of the designated Round-Up period, 100% of these funds are donated directly to the organization to help them continue to support our community!
We launched our Register Round-Up Program in June of 2019 and have been absolutely blown away by its success. Since then, we’ve raised more than $240,000 for local organizations!
Each Portland Food Co-op Member Owner can nominate up to three non-profits during the designated nomination period.
A slate of nominees is then created.
Co-op Member-Owners vote for their top ten organizations from this slate. Voting takes place online in the spring of each year.
To qualify for Register Round-Up, organizations must:
Currently be a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization or have a 501(c)(3) fiscal sponsor
Not be directly affiliated with a religious organization or political party
Not have received funds through Register Round-Up for the past three (3) cycles.
