Deadline to Order Organic & Native Plants from Rebel Hill Farm

8:00 AM08:00

Deadline to Order Organic & Native Plants from Rebel Hill Farm

It's time for the Rebel Hill Farm Native Plant & Perennial Sale!

Choose from 40 varieties of plants, flowers, and herbs. These plants are field grown, well rooted, and necessarily hardy. Julie and Peter Beckford believe the plants gardeners choose to grow matter a lot to wildlife and the surrounding natural areas. Native, as they use the term, means: growing in Central or Eastern North America prior to European settlement. If the plant is native to Maine, it is noted. The medicinal and culinary herbs are all over-wintered, hardy perennials. All of these plants are certified organic by MOFGA.

Orders must be placed by Saturday, April 27th;  plants will be delivered to Portland Food Co-op for pick-up and payment on Sunday, May 5th.

For full details and to order visit our website at  www.portlandfood.coop/rebel-hill-plant-sale

Try some delicious, healthy SoulFresh Proteins spirulina in yummy, crunchy snack form! : "The Agcore Team took on the challenge to develop a sustainable, environmentally friendly, low energy technology and process. Agcore succeeded in creating a year-round crop whereas other Spirulina growers located closer to the equator have to shut down during the hot summer months. Next, Agcore needed a brand that accurately defined our product and our mission and SoulFresh Proteins was born. Our Spirulina provides nourishment for ones mind, body and "Soul". Our product is harvested daily, dried at low temperatures, packaged and shipped to customers providing a very “Fresh” product. A considerable amount of the Spirulina currently being sold in the US was produced oversees (China, India) where it is stored and shipped over long periods of time using environmentally unfriendly grow and shipping methods. This is your chance to be part of the guiding body for the Co-op. Are you a Member-Owner? Are you interested in how the PFC and the Board work to determine these policies? Do you want to give voice to our Member-Owners’ interests and needs? Do you want to help carry out the mission of the Portland Food Co-op? Do you have a vision and passion to advocate for building Portland’s local food movement and advancing a cooperatively owned, democratically run local business? Then you, my friend, would make an excellent Portland Food Co-op Board member.

This will be an opportunity to learn more about the work of the Board and see if perhaps Board service is right for you! Just fill out this quick link and let us know if you can make it.
