New Opportunities at the Co-op

We are currently hiring for the following two positions:

Community Engagement Coordinator:  This person is responsible for promoting positive relationships between the Co-op, our Member-Owners, and the wider community. This position leads planning and provides support for all in-store and community outreach events, including classes, workshops, forums, and tabling opportunities. The Coordinator works with the General Manager to develop marketing plans, manage the Co-op’s website, social media and email campaigns, and create most in-store signage. This person also manages Member-Ownership promotion and database maintenance. Experience in community organizing and an understanding of marketing principles is preferred. This is a 30 hour per week position. There is some scheduling flexibility but some nights and weekends are required. To apply, please email a resume and cover letter to gm@portlandfood.coop

Evening Manager:  The Evening Manager acts as lead cashier and oversees all aspects of store operations during the afternoon and evening hours.  This person also performs end-of-day cash-ups and supervises the closing of the business each night. The position requires experience with a point of sale system and a commitment to superior, friendly, community-oriented, customer service.  This is a 40 hour per week position and involves working our closing shift daily (currently 1pm-9pm).  At least one weekend shift is required.  To apply, please email a resume and cover letter to gm@portlandfood.coop
